1. Open the Global Configuration: Site -> Global Configuration, or use the QuickIcon on the main control panel.
2. Click on the System tab and go to the Media Settings section near the bottom.
3. Media Settings:
a. Legal Extensions (File Types). Set the file types that are allowed to be uploaded through the media manager.
b. Maximum Size (in bytes). The maximum size of a file that can be uploaded, measured in bytes. The default setting is 10,000,000 (10 megabytes). Set to 0 for no limit.
c. Path to Media Folder. You can create a new folder for the Media folder, but do not delete or move the default "images" folder from the webserver because this folder is used as the parent folder for banners, M_images, etc.
d. Path to Image Folder. The folder where images used in content articles are stored. Note: If you change this, do not delete the default "images/stories".
e. Restrict Uploads. When set to yes, any users below the level of Manager can upload only image type files.
f. Minimum User Level for Media Manager. Select the user level that can use the Media Manager from the front end of the website.
g. Check MIME Types. If MIME Magic or Fileinfo is installed, set this to Yes to verify files. This will help protect your site from users who try to upload malicious files to your site.
h. Legal Image Extensions (File Types). Set the types of image files that can be uploaded. This is used in place of "Legal Extensions" when the user uploading a file is restricted to only image files.
i. Ignored Extensions. List file types which should not be included in MIME checking and upload restrictions.
j. Legal MIME Types. The list of MIME types that are allowed for uploading via the Media Manager.
k. Illegal MIME Types. MIME types that cannot be uploaded via the Media Manager.
l. Enable Flash Uploader. Enables uploading of several files at once using the integrated Flash uploader.
