(a.k.a., How to Extract the Contents of a Compressed File).
A zipped file is a compressed version of the file(s). Zipping is also known as archiving. A file or group of files are compressed into one single file which is considerably smaller in total size than the uncompressed files.
Windows and Mac operating systems come with a compression utility to zip and unzip files. Commercial applications such as WinZip and StuffIt have additional utilities and work with many types of compressed file types in addition to the ".zip" file.
To Zip a File: Select file(s) from your list; right-click and select Add to Zip File or Add to Archive from the shortcut menu.
To Unzip a File: Right-click the file and click Extract on the shortcut menu.
